Government 2.1

Move beyond wikis, blogs, and social networks and leverage your greatest asset - your own employees.

Government agencies at all levels are being called upon to find ways to streamline processes and improve agency communication, avoid redundancy, and increase the likelihood of success on projects. Agencies are also being asked to "act more like the enterprise," and in reaction have mimicked many of the moves the enterprise has made, implementing internal wikis, blogs, social networks, and open data initiatives.

But just like the corporate world experienced, unless you're actually solving a problem, these are just technologies. And inevitably, many Enterprise 2.0 efforts have failed, just like Government 2.0 programs have seen mixed success. We don't believe Inkling is a panacea, but we do believe Inkling puts government agencies in a position to manage their portfolio of projects more effectively and reduce risk on large-scale projects - two very real problems that exist today.

Track Record

Inkling's software has been certified and accredited by the U.S. Government and has been installed behind the firewall for certain government agencies. We also host our software on behalf of government agencies to eliminate the need for any IT overhead.

Our current and former government clients include the U.S. intelligence community, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Naval Post-Graduate School, the Department of Energy, and the Government of Singapore. We also work with large government contractors such as Mitre, Lockheed Martin, and Accenture.

Inkling is registered as a small business.

Government Solutions

Portfolio Assessment
Strengthen your portfolio management processes by asking questions about upcoming key performance metrics for each project in your portfolio. The output from these questions will give you valuable data to make mid-course changes throughout the fiscal year and will also inform your annual budgeting process.
Project Risk Management
Government projects often involve government employees, contractors, even subject matter experts from universities or non-profits. Program management offices for these projects can use Inkling to understand the likelihood of risk factors occurring. Asking these questions and soliciting participation from the entire team means proactively dealing with problems and increasing awareness of risk among the entire team.
